Job Description

Our Café Leaders guide their teams to meet our store goals and standards, ensuring positive “third space” experiences for all customers, store personnel, and stakeholders. He or she oversees production and service in both the kitchen and the front of the house. Reporting directly to the Store Manager, the Café Leader embodies our highest standards in work habits and speaks fluently the language of the cafe business.

Duties & Key Responsibilities:
The Café Leader performs all the duties of the Shift Leader with the additional responsibilities of working with the Manager to achieve store goals, specifically, by:

*Knowing and enforcing standards at all levels
*Monitoring store, team, and individual progress
*Successful execution of delegated tasks
*Team accountability, holding individuals accountable while fostering camaraderie
*Timely filing of required reports, meeting deadlines
*Use of core values to guide team
*Superior listening skills

90-Day Goals

*Develop revised training checklists in collaboration with Manager
*Effective rollout and implementation of quarterly marketing plan with Manager
*Accurate and timely Inventory & Store Logs record keeping and reporting
*Increase store labor productivity ratio from 7 to 8 in collaboration with Management
*Effective Usage of Store QC evaluation rubrics
*Maintain overall A+ customer feedback
*Effective communications with staff and customers in person and online
*Effective weekly and/or same page meetings with Management
*Consistently effective IDS meeting outcomes

180-Day Goals

*Complete serve safe and/or Barista certification program
*Oversee increase in in-store food sales 20 percent over preceding year through staff customer service training
*Successful completion of assigned rocks for Q1 & Q2
*Effective co-management of performance reviews
*Co-hire, train, and retain 1-2 full-time or 5-7 part-time A-Team players

Education & Certification Requirements:
*Current Food Manager Certification Required
*Bachelor's Degree Strongly Preferred

Required Knowledge & Experience:
*Working knowledge of excel, adobe, cloud data management
*Familiarity with best practices in food safety and espresso bar service
*Track record of effective teamwork
*Record keeping, data management, and reporting
*Successful leadership experience
*Minimum of 2 years’ experience
