Rhode Island’s ProStart State Champions from William M. Davies, Jr. Career & Technical High School Management and Culinary teams competed at the National ProStart Invitational in Grapevine, Texas from April 29-May 1.  The teams competed against schools from 47 other states to earn scholarships for multiple colleges and universities across the country.  Not only did the teams get the opportunity to demonstrate their technical and leadership skills, they had the chance to meet leaders in the restaurant and foodservice sector.  Our culinary team placed 12th out of 46 teams while the management team placed 25th out of 42 teams.  Both teams ranked the highest they have since competing at nationals.  Their communication, presentations and positive attitudes should make all of Rhode Island proud.
