Heather Singleton Elected to Vice Chair of the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation’s 2018 Certification Governing CommitteeMonika
Cranston, RI – February 6, 2018 – The RI Hospitality Association (RIHA), located at 94 Sabra Street in Cranston, RI, is pleased to announce that Heather Singleton, Chief Operating Officer at the RI Hospitality Education Foundation (RIHEF) and a veteran of Rhode Island’s hospitality industry, has been elected to serve as Vice Chair of the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation’s (NRAEF) 2018 Certification Governing Committee.
Heather brings nearly 25 years of industry experience to her new appointment, working at RIHA since 1999 and serving as a RIHEF guide and educator to thousands of hospitality students in Rhode Island for many of those years. She was originally elected to the NRAEF’s Certification Governing Board in 2014 and has been responsible for helping the NRAEF with appeals and decision-making of any escalated incidents that arose during her tenure, and ensuring that the rights of properly-credentialed businesses are protected.
“Heather’s substantial experience in the hospitality industry makes her an invaluable asset to the NRAEF’s Certification Governing Committee,” said Dale J. Venturini, President & CEO, RI Hospitality Association. “I am very confident that she will make wonderful contributions as Vice Chair in 2018.”
Heather currently volunteers on the board of directors for the Providence Cranston Workforce Investment Board and the William M. Davies Jr. Career & Technical High School Board of Trustees. As the Chief Operating Office of the RI Hospitality Association and the RI Hospitality Education Foundation, Heather is responsible for establishing, implementing, and insuring that the goals and objectives of the Enterprise are met. Provides day-to-day staff management and oversees all operations including, but not limited to, membership services, endorsed programs, educational partners, and training programs.
She has taught travel and tourism courses at the Community College of Rhode Island and Johnson and Wales University. She has been featured in the 2007 Women of Influence list in New England Foodservice and Providence Business News as a young business professional in their 2003 “Young Guns” article and again in 2005’s “40 Under Forty.”
