Training Academy News

On October 2, 2017, RI Hospitality Association held its 28th Annual Golf Classic Fundraising event at Quidnessett Country Club in North Kingstown.  144 golfers played in the tournament from all areas of the hospitality industry.  This event was sponsored by Sysco Boston, Sprague, Falvey Linen Supply, Performance Foodservice, Newport Harbor Corporation, Gordon Food Service, McLaughlin & Moran, Inc., TriMark United East, Twin River Casino, Providence Biltmore, TF Green Airport, SecurityRI, Panera Bread, Downeast Coffee Roasters, Rhode Island Distributing, Heartland Payment Systems and Blum Shapiro and a variety of other donors who purchased tee signs or donated to our raffle and silent auction.  Our event sponsors provided amazing food and libations for our players to enjoy throughout the day.  First through third place was awarded to teams from: 84 Tavern on Canal, Discover Newport and Enterprise Rent A Car Company of RI LLC.  Dale Venturini of RI Hospitality Association won Closest to the Pin, Women; Raymond Alves of the Providence Biltmore won Closest to the Pin, Men; Kate Sullivan of Omni Providence won the Longest Drive, Women; and Kyle Stamps of Kitchen Bar won the Longest Drive, Men.
This year, tee signs that supported the RI Hospitality Education Foundation were offered and the sponsors included:

•    Johnson & Wales University
•    NYLO Hotel
