RI High School Hospitality Career Summit
RI Hospitality Education Foundation hosts an annual Hospitality Student Career Summit for more than 200 local high school students, who are enrolled in culinary arts, foodservice, and hotel management programs.
The Hospitality Student Career Summit is a professional development opportunity for career and technical education students to participate in various breakout sessions, explore different career pathways, practice interview skills, learn effective communication styles, and engage with industry professionals.
Key Sessions Include:
Local schools compete in two distinct competitions at the state level – management and culinary events.
Career Reality Talk Show: Special ProStart Alumni guests, who work in the hospitality industry, will be interviewed by the conference co-chairs, sharing their career journeys and insights.
Highway to Employment: HR professionals will guide students on building confidence, presenting the best version of themselves, and navigating job interviews with mock questions.
Simply Sweet Demo: A culinary Chef , will lead an exciting culinary session, allowing students to explore flavors and creativity.
Sip, Sample, & Learn: Johnson & Wales Professor Michael Sabitoni and Chef Kevin O’Donnell, of Giusto, will delve into the world of flavor profiling, discussing their impact on restaurant sales and upselling strategies.
Employer Recruitment Tables: Employers will have access to 200 High School students to speak with about job opportunities.
