Entry Level Cook Training

The RI Hospitality Training Academy is hosting a three week Entry Level Cook Training. In an effort to develop and train more skilled workers for the hospitality industry, this training is the perfect start for anyone looking to earn an entry level position in the food service sector. In this training, we will review what qualities, behaviors and specific skill sets that are required for a successful career in the hospitality industry. The first two weeks are in a classroom setting and the third week consists of hands on experience in the kitchen.

Students will be trained in:

  • Kitchen Safety
  • Food Safety and Sanitation
  • Kitchen Operations
  • Knife Skills
  • Teamwork
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Resume and job interviewing skills

Students can earn:

  • ServSafe Food Handlers Certification
  • American Hotel Lodging Education Institute Kitchen Cook Certification

When is the training session?

March 2 – March 20, 2020

Who can or should apply?

Anyone currently looking for employment in an entry level cook position with little or no prior knowledge or skills is encouraged to apply.

How much will it cost?

This training is free of charge to participants selected, and is funded by Real Jobs RI.

Are you able to stand for up to 8 hours?
